We developed the Endurance Team when we realized the demand for a structured program to help immerse students of all ages into the sport of endurance. There are certain goals that have to be met to be able to attend AERC-sanctioned events, including lessons in the arena and on trail, rider fitness, volunteer hours on the trail, and more! The Crater Hill Endurance Team program will help you seamlessly transition through these goals.
Our requirements for the Endurance Team members are to be a minimum of 7 years old and must be able to comfortably walk, trot, and canter in a group lesson on the horse in which they will be riding on the trail. Riders must then become confident on the trail and we will begin talking about entering your first endurance ride. Owning a horse is not a requirement, we offer horses for lease on a first-come, first-serve basis. Spots on the Team are limited, so don't wait to get involved!
When you become a member of the Endurance Team, you will receive coaching both in the arena and on the trail, from seasoned endurance riders. Other benefits include horsemanship, nutrition, conditioning, mentoring on rides, assistance with selecting and managing a suitable endurance horse, first access to special offer clinics on saddle fit, veterinary care, horse management, and so much more!
